Eight Modules
- Module 1 - Introducing Managing Safely
Covers the statistics and emphasised the importance of managers’ responsibility for their teams
- Module 2 – Assessing Risks
Provides detail of the risk assessment process with a simple risk rating system and aids identification of hazards and associated risks within workplaces
- Module 3 – Controlling Risks
Identifies the methods and techniques for controlling significant risks
- Module 4 – Understanding Your Responsibilities
Introduction of the Safety Management System and the structure of the legal system and its application
- Module 5 – Identifying Hazards
Covers the main types of hazards typically encountered in the workplace
- Module 6 – Investigating accidents and incidents
How and why accidents happen, how to complete an investigation and the importance of investigation
- Module 7 – Measuring Performance
Proactive and reactive monitoring process and how safety inspections, checks and audits can improve standards in the workplace
- Module 8 – Protecting our environment
Introduction to waste and pollution control with a view to how best organisations and managers could help to reduce environmental impact
Assessment
- Includes the completion of a written and practical assessment
Certification
- On successful completion of the IOSH Managing Safely course and assessments, delegates will receive an IOSH Accredited Certificate
