Staff with the responsibility for completing or reviewing fire risk assessments, with the objective of reducing or removing the risk of harm occurring to employees and others from fire, as required under The Regulatory Reform (Fire Safety) Order 2005.
Objectives
By the end of the course delegates will be able to:
- Explain the legal background to the requirements of the fire risk assessment
- Identify different types of fire hazards and the techniques available for fire prevention and control
- Clearly identify and complete the stages of a fire risk assessment
- List the different types of fire fighting equipment available and how to use them
- Explain the fire emergency procedures and the importance of signage, visibility and location of equipment
- Identify the appropriate fire extinguisher for a particular fire
- Produce a fire risk assessment within their workplace
